Introducing CementQuote
2026-07-15
CementQuote is a quoting tool built for one trade: residential concrete contractors. Not a generic field-service platform, not a CRM with a concrete add-on, but a focused app that turns a walk of the driveway into a clean, branded, signable quote in minutes. This is the first post on the blog, so it is worth saying plainly what CementQuote is, why it exists, and what it does not try to be.
Why this exists
Concrete crews are good at pouring flatwork and, understandably, less excited about paperwork. Yet the quote is where the job is won or lost. Quote too slowly and a faster competitor takes the job. Quote by hand and you forget the tear-out, the extra inch of thickness, or the short-load fee, and the margin leaks out the bottom of the estimate. Quote from a generic template and it looks like every other contractor's, so the customer decides on price alone.
The common tools do not fit. A spreadsheet is fast but fragile, and it never looks professional to the customer. A general invoicing app does not understand pour types, finishes, thickness, and yardage, so you end up doing the concrete math yourself anyway. The big field-service suites are built for companies with an office manager, priced accordingly, and full of features a two-person crew will never touch.
CementQuote is the tool in between: it knows concrete, it is fast enough to use on a tailgate, and it produces a quote the customer can accept online with a deposit.
What it does
You set your price book once: base rates for driveways, patios, sidewalks, and slabs, plus the adders you actually use, stamped, exposed aggregate, integral color, thickness upgrades, rebar, fiber, sealer, and tear-out. Then, at the house, you build the quote:
- Measure each pour, length by width, and watch the square footage and the form perimeter update as you type.
- Tap the finish, thickness, reinforcement, and tear-out for that pour, and the line reprices instantly.
- Add steps by the riser, curb by the linear foot, a concrete pump as a flat day, and base rock by the square foot.
- See the running total and, in the same bottom bar, a live yardage and truck count, because you think in yards, not just dollars.
When the job is small, a small-pour minimum applies automatically as a visible line, so you never eat a short load. When you are done, CementQuote generates a branded PDF, emails it to the customer, and gives them a page where they can review the pours, download the PDF, and accept online by typing their name. You get notified the moment they open it and the moment they sign.
The yardage ticker
One detail we care about more than it might seem: as you enter pours, the bottom bar shows an estimate like "13.4 yd3, 2 trucks." Contractors do not just price in dollars, they plan in yardage, and knowing the trucks and the forms before you leave the driveway is the difference between a smooth pour day and a scramble. The job plan does not drive the price. It just tells you what the pour actually needs.
What it does not try to be
CementQuote is not scheduling software, not accounting, not a full CRM. It does the one job that decides whether you get the work: the quote. It aims to be the fastest way to turn a site visit into a signed number, and to make sure nothing quietly falls out of that number.
Built to be honest
Every rate and adder is yours to edit. The small-pour minimum is visible. The e-signature is a plain click-wrap record with a name, a timestamp, and a hashed IP, not something dressed up as more than it is. The terms cover the things concrete customers actually ask about: hairline cracking and control joints, cure and traffic times, weather, color variance, and the deposit. The goal is a quote you are proud to send and a customer who knows exactly what they are buying.
That is CementQuote. Set your rates, price the job in the driveway, and get the yes signed before you drive away.
